Here's a guide to the origins of Green Beer. I particularly enjoyed this line from the article by Carolyn Heneghan (is that Irish?) regarding Saint Paddy's special day: "...it is also one of the most hated holidays in Ireland itself, no doubt popularized namely by North American partiers. If you plan on being in Ireland this Spring Break, please do not ask for a green beer if you'd rather avoid an Irish fist to the temple."
